Ann Marie Shay founded the practice in 2012. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified Trauma Practitioner, and a Michigan Licensed Supervisor for Limited Licensed Counselors. She has worked with more than 10,000 people seeking mental health care.

Iosco, Ogemaw and Oscoda counties are federally designated a High Needs Mental Health Professional Shortage Area, HRSA designation 7261033101, checked on 9 September 2026. Roughly 45,000 people here are counted as underserved. That is the gap this practice exists to close, one person at a time.
