Who comes to this
People who have frightened somebody they love and did not mean to. People whose temper has cost them a job, a relationship or a license. People whose own children have started going quiet when they walk in. And people who have been told to come by somebody else and are not sure they agree.
You do not have to arrive convinced. Arriving is enough to start with.
What the class covers
What anger actually is, and the difference between the feeling and what you do with it. The physical warning signs that arrive before you have decided anything. What sets you off specifically, which is rarely what you would have guessed. What to do in the ninety seconds where the choice is still yours. How to repair afterwards, because there is almost always an afterwards.
It is a class, not a therapy group. You will not be asked to tell the room your worst day.
Where it runs
In the group room at the office at 4093 M-65, Hale, MI 48739, which is a large room with proper chairs rather than a circle in a corridor.
If somebody else has told you to do a class
If a court, a probation officer or an employer has told you to complete a class, say so when you call. Requirements differ, and we would rather check whether this class meets yours before you enroll than have you find out afterwards that it did not.
Practical
Class dates, the number of sessions and the cost are set per course. Call (989) 728-2364 and ask when the next one starts and what it costs, and you will get a straight answer rather than a form.
If what you actually need is one-to-one counseling rather than a class, say so when you call. Sometimes that is the better place to start.
