Who this is for
The person everybody rings first. The one who does the organizing at work and at home and cannot remember agreeing to either. Adults still managing a difficult parent. People coming out of a relationship where the line kept moving. Anyone who has noticed that resentment is doing the talking lately.
What a boundary actually is
Not a rule for somebody else. A boundary is a decision about what you will do, and it works whether or not the other person cooperates, which is exactly why it is harder and more useful than an ultimatum.
Most of the work in this workshop is on the two hard parts: saying the thing plainly the first time, and holding it the third time when the other person pushes back. Guilt is treated as normal rather than as evidence you got it wrong.
What you leave with
Sentences you can actually say out loud. A way of telling the difference between being unkind and being clear. And a short list of the places in your own week where the line has gone missing.
Practical
The workshop runs in the group room at the office in Hale. Call (989) 728-2364 to ask when the next one is scheduled and what it costs. If a workshop is not the right shape for you, one to one counseling covers the same ground privately.
