The drive

From Tawas City it is M-65 inland and then straight on into Hale: 22.4 road miles and about 32 minutes in fair weather. From East Tawas it is 23.1 miles and about 35 minutes. National City is closer again at about 20 minutes, and Whittemore, which most people from the Tawas area pass on the way, is 13.
